Katie Howard on how the River Valley Area Agency on Aging helps people

Katie Howard directs the agency. It’s also the first Sunday of the month, so we’ll have a hot-dish lunch after the service. Visitors are welcome. Howard has served in her current job for a year and a half. The River Valley Area Agency on Aging is part of the River Valley Regional Commission, and Howard previously she served for 15 years as the commission’s community and economic development director. The commission promotes “orderly growth and economic prosperity” for 35 municipalities and county governments in 16 counties, including Chattahoochee County.

Howard is a native of Columbus. She is married to a retired soldier, and they have raised two children, David and Meagan, both now in college.  Howard earned a bachelor of science degree in industrial management from Auburn University and a master’s degree in business administration from Columbus State University.
