Our lay leader Rick Spradlin says that to turn over a new leaf “we need to break with the branch of the old.” He’ll talk about building new habits in the new year.

Rick Spradlin, is a longtime educator and a longtime member of our Fellowship. He’s also a lifelong student of philosophy, ethics and comparative religion. A keystone of Unitarian Universalism is our commitment to support each other as we follow our own unique spiritual paths. During this Sunday’s service on the eve of the new year, Rick will give us an opportunity to think deeply about how our lives might unfold in 2018.

Our Sunday services usually include a talk—by Rick or another member of our Fellowship or by a guest speaker. Services also include music, meditation and affirmations of the principles of Unitarian Universalism, which are summarized in the graphic below. We also have activities throughout the week.

Here’s our full schedule for the morning of  New Year’s Eve:

• 9:30 a.m. until noon. Childcare is available.
• 9:30 a.m. Adult Religious Education. This week: The History of God, Part 5.
• 10:00 a.m. UU Singers practice. All voices are welcome. (We also practice Wednesdays at 6 p.m.)
• 10:15 a.m. Coffee and conversation before the service.
• 10:45 a.m. Sunday service.
• 10:55 a.m.  Children’s Religious Education. Kids join us for the first few minutes of each Sunday service, which includes a children’s story, then that adjourn to a classroom for their own activities. This week the topic is “Courage and Perseverance.”
