Social Action
About
The Social Action Committee organizes Fellowship activities that help make our community, our nation and the world a better place.
Mission
The 2019 Mission Statement of the Social Action Committee is to promote and encourage outreach actions that serve humanity and protect the earth.
Our rationale as Unitarians, even though we each have our own religious and spiritual views and beliefs, is we nevertheless, are bound together by a common set of principles.
Several of our Unitarian principles impel us towards social action. Included in these are the following affirmations:
- The inherent worth and dignity of every person.
- Justice, equity and compassion in human relations.
- The goal of world community with peace, justice, and liberty for all.
- Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
These principles call upon us to act with love and compassion, to seek justice, and to function as responsible stewards of the earth.
