Rev. Beedle is a minister of the First Unitarian Church of New Orleans. He’ll talk about how and why we feel sure of each other and whether we’re sure enough to work together for a healthier community.
Rev. Beedle trained at Union Theological Seminary in New York, after a career in business, and he was ordained as a UU minister in 1999. His interests include music, history, psychology and religion. He’s especially interested in economic and racial justice, and he continues to learn from and network with New Orleanians who are involved in activism and organizing in these areas of concern. Our Sunday services begin at 11 a.m. but do join us for coffee, refreshments and conversation any time after 10:15 a.m.
Services typically are centered on a talk—either by a member of our Fellowship or by a guest speaker. Services also include music, meditation and opportunities (always optional) to add your own thoughts. Unitarian Universalists (UUs) don’t share a creed. Rather, we support each other in our own free and responsible searches for truth and meaning. For us, dogma is less important than treating our fellow human beings with respect. And visitors are always welcome.
