Rick Spradlin: “The Oneness of Humanity”

Our Sunday services begin at 11 a.m., and we’ll hold our service this Sunday, March 15, with some restrictions. See President Hal Midgette’s message about coronavirus precautions. Our speaker is Lay Leader Rick Spradlin, who’s topic, “The Oneness of Humanity” seems especially relevant.

Rick Spradlin

Rick Rick is a special education teacher who also is a long-time student of comparative religion, philosophy and ethics. As our lay leader, he helps keep us focused on the Seven Principles of Unitarian Universalism—either by presenting sermons from UU ministers, with his own thoughts,  or by presenting original talks.

Sunday services typically are centered on a talk—either by a member of our Fellowship, like Rick, or by a guest speaker. Services also include music, meditation and opportunities (always optional) to add your own thoughts. Our Fellowship includes Christians, Buddhists, Pagans, atheists, agnostics, humanists and others. In other words, people of many creeds. For us, dogma is less important than treating our fellow human beings and the planet with love and respect.

Adult Religious Exploration is cancelled this Sunday. The UUFC Board will hold it’s regular meeting after the service, and board members will consider safety precautions going forward.
