Many of us watched UUA’s national Side With Love Sunday service on Feb. 14. You can watch it here on YouTube.*
Here’s what the service was all about:
What if to “side with love” meant making bold, faith-full choices? What if it were even a little bit scary? This worship service brings together sterling worship leaders and musicians from across the country to offer hopeful, moving, challenging reminders about what we, as Unitarian Universalists, are called to do, and BE, in the world.
The UUA is challenging us to act—to step outside our comfort zones and extend our reach into the communities around us. This service is inspiring some of us here in Columbus to think creatively about ways our Fellowship can reach diverse groups.
Join us!
We will gather virtually to talk about outreach, but we want to do more than talk. Our conversations will lead to action. To that end, UUA has provided this discussion guide for Side With Love ideas.
Will you join us? Email Bill Harlan at [email protected] with “Side With Love Conversation” in the subject line. We’ll set something up on Zoom. After the Polar Vortex departs, maybe we’ll meet socially distant at our outdoor campus.
Our plan is a work in progress. We’ll start by talking, but our goal is action. Deeds not creeds!
