The UU Water Ceremony

The annual Water Ceremony* is a Unitarian Universalist tradition. This Sunday you are invited to bring a tiny sample of water that is significant for you. It can be from as close to home as your yard, from as far away as another continent or from anywhere in between. The important part is, it has meaning for you. Sunday services start at 11 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Hall, following our pandemic safety precautions. (See below.)

If you don’t bring your own water sample we’ll have extra. After all, it’s the thought and spirit that count. Our Celebration of Life Toast also will be included in this service, using water instead of our traditional choices of wine or juice. After the Service, we will release the water we collect into the Heiferhorn Creek, with runs through or campus to the Chattahoochee River, the Gulf of Mexico and beyond.

UUFC President Hal Midgette will lead this special service. Visitors and guests are always welcome.

Our Pandemic Safety Measures

  • Almost 100 percent of our members and friends have been vaccinated for COVID-19, and our seating has been changed to make social distancing easier.
  • We do have music, but we don’t sing together.
  • Masks are required.
