Guest speaker Tori Massey Young its lead clinical therapist and outreach specialist at the Children’s Tree House Advocacy Center in Columbus. She’ll talk about how Children’s Tree House uses a consolidated, collaborative approach to protect kids at risk for abuse and neglect. Join us to learn more about this important program and how we can help.

Sunday services start at 11 a.m. The centerpiece is a talk, like Tori Young’s, and services also include music, meditation, readings and opportunities to share your own thoughts. Visitors and guests are always welcome. We’re done by noon.

Ms. Young is an outstanding leader in our community. She earned degrees from Tuskegee University (in psychology) and Troy University (a master’s degree in clinical mental health). She also was Miss Tuskegee University, and she earned four scholarships at the Miss Alabama Pageant. Ebony Magazine recognized her for an outstanding college career, and now she’s working on a doctorate in counselor education at Auburn University. Ms. Young also teaches dance, and she’s a member of The City Church and Opelika, AL, where she’s praise dance coordinator and a worship team member.

Children’s Tree House is a program of Twin Cedars Youth and Family Services, Inc. Its mission aligns with the Seven Principles of Unitarian Universalism, which emphasize the worth and dignity of all people.
