A special Sunday service for a Medal of Honor recipient

On May 21, President Biden awarded Col. Ralph Puckett of Columbus the Medal of Honor for his actions during a battle for Hill 205 during the Korean War. Col. Puckett and his wife Jean, who are members of our Fellowship, will attend this Sunday’s service, and Jean will talk about the telephone call from President Biden and about the White House ceremony.

This unique service, which will include some video from the White House ceremony, will pay tribute to our friend and recognize all those who put their lives at risk to protect freedom and human rights.

Col. Puckett, a U.S. Army Ranger, is well known for his service in Korea and Vietnam and for his lifelong mentoring of Army Rangers.

Sunday services begin at 11 a.m., and visitors are welcome. Almost all of our members and friends have been vaccinated for COVID-19. Masks are optional if you have been vaccinated. If not, please do wear a mask and maintain social distancing. We’ve adjusted our seating to make that easier. We’ve also paused our Celebration of Life Toast and our singing. But there will be music!

Please join us for service that’s a bit out of the ordinary.
