Lenny Pinna is an eclectic artist. He’s dancer, a filmmaker, a student of yoga and a board member of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Indiana, PA. Lenny also is the author of “A Face from Uranus,” which includes the 1940s correspondence between Tedd Burr, a young man struggling with gender identity, and author Henry Bellamann. His 1940 bestseller, “Kings Row, explored a range of small-town hypocrisies in a small southern town. (The movie version starred Ronald Reagan!) We welcome visitors and guests to our services.
The correspondence between Burr and Bellaman offers a historical perspective on the LBGTQ experience, and Lenny’s talk will include some archival interview footage. (Our own UU friend, Danielle Neale, who also attends Lenny’s church, recommended him as a speaker.)
Sunday services begin at 11 a.m., but join us early for coffee and conversation. Each service includes a talk, often by a guest speaker, a little music, a little meditation, and opportunities (always optional) to share your own thoughts. And we’re done by noon.
