Chuck Williams on covering politics during chaotic times

Take a deep breath with us on Sunday morning, Nov. 3. Then we’ll take a clear-eyed look, through the eyes of a professional, at how to commit journalism. Good journalism has never been more important than it is right now. And it’s never been more challenging to produce. (And to recognize!)

Our guest speaker is award-winning reporter, columnist and editor Chuck Williams. He’s covered sports, news and politics in Columbus for nearly four decades. That includes nearly 30 years at the Columbus Ledger Enquirer. Then he made the challenging transition to TV news, as a reporter at WRBL. Chuck has stories to tell and insights to share.

Sunday services begin at 11 a.m., but join us early for coffee and conversation. Visitors are always welcome at our progressive Fellowship. Services include a talk, often by a guest speaker. They also include music, meditation and optional opportunities to share your thoughts.

Be prepared for something different. Unitarian Universalism is unusual. For example, we don’t share a creed. Our members are Christians, Jews, Buddhists and subscribers to earth-centered traditions. Members also include humanists, agnostics, atheists and people who resist labels. What we do share are commitments to respect the worth and dignity of all people, to care for the planet we share, and to support each other in our own free and responsible searches for truth and meaning.

See us Sunday for details. If you’ve been unsatisfied with other organized religions, you might find a home here. (Full disclosure, we’re not that organized.)
