Lay leader Rick Spradlin will talk about “Turning Over a New Leaf,” this Sunday, as we begin our experiment with a new 11 a.m. start time.
Rick is a special education teacher and a lifelong student of comparative religion, philosophy and ethics. Our Sunday services now start at 11 a.m., but join us for coffee, refreshments and conversation any time after 10:15 a.m. Visitors also are welcome at Adult Religious Education, which begins at 9:15 a.m. We explore all the world’s great religions and philosophies and we dive deeper into modern Unitarian Universalist principles. (This Sunday, for example, we’ll explore the idea of respecting the worth and dignity of all people.)
Our Sunday services are about an hour long. They typically are centered on a talk—either by a member of our Fellowship, like Rick. or by a guest speaker. Services also include music, meditation and opportunities (always optional) to add your own thoughts. Unitarian Universalists (UUs) don’t share a creed. Rather, we support each other in our own free and responsible searches for truth and meaning. For us, dogma is less important than treating our fellow human beings with respect. And visitors are always welcome.

- 9:15 a.m. Children’s religious education. Kids also learn about the world’s great religions and about respecting each other and the planet. This week’s topic is love for all creatures.
- 10:15 a.m. Coffee and conversation before the service.
- 11:45 a.m. The Sunday service.
