What’s happening the week of March 20-26

Dr. Becky Becker, Theatre Department, Columbus State University

This Sunday (March 26)  Dr. Becky Becker will present. “Fiddler on the Roof: Lessons in Balance and Empathy with Tevye.” Becker heads the Bachelor of Arts Program in Theatre at Columbus State University. Her directing credits include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Laramie Project,  Eurydice and other works. She also conceived and directed several oral history performances, including Westville: Collected Lives and Bibb City: Collected Lives From a Mill Town.

Monday, March 20
7 p.m.Celebrating the Vernal (Spring) Equinox in the Meditation Garden.
If you want to come early, Hal will start a fire about 5:30; feel free to bring hot dogs or marshmallows. Rain Plan: meet in The Meeting House.

Tuesday, March 21
7 p.m. UUFC Board Meeting

Wednesday, March 22
6 p.m. UU Singers practice.
7 p.m. Wednesday Night Discussion Group. Topic: “Reliable Sources for News”

Friday, March 24
12:30 p.m. Friday Lunch Group meeting at Mandarin Café.

Sunday, March 26
Childcare is available from 9:30 a.m. until noon.

9:30 a.m. Adult Religious Education: “The Myth of Secularism”, Part 3, led by Rick Spradlin.
10:30 a.m. Coffee and conversation before the service.
10:45 a.m. Sunday Service. The program this week is “Fiddler on the Roof: Lessons in Balance and Empathy with Tevye,” with Dr. Becky Becker.
10:50 a.m. Children’s Religious Education: “The Power of Peace, ” led by Emily Jones . Children join us for the first few minutes of the service, which includes a children’s story. Then they adjourn to a classroom for their own program.

NOTES:

  • Our clothing drive ends on Sunday, March 26. Bring clothes and shoes, for men and women, appropriate for job interviews and work.
  • The new group Indivisible will meet in Grace Fellowship Hall Sunday, March 26, at 4:00 p.m. (Indivisible is not affiliated with the Unitarian Universal Fellowship of Columbus.)
